Sling TV Streams to the Chromecast

However, it’s important to note that Sling TV now supports Chromecast on Android smartphones and tablets, iPhones, and iPads.

Sling TV’s support for the device comes about a month after Google introduced its next-gen Chromecast, which features improved WiFi connectivity and faster video streaming playback. Landing on Chromecast, which costs just $35 to get in, makes the service by far the most affordable way to bypass your cable or satellite provider. If you don’t have a subscription or a Chromecast, you can pre-pay for three months of service, and receive a free Chromecast. The Sling TV platform is also available on Roku players, Roku TVs, the Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, PCs, Macs, Xbox One, and Android and iOS devices.

Finally, and I feel that word should be emphasized, finally, Sling TV now supports Chromecast. But similar to Netflix and other services, Sling TV has every interest in being everywhere, so it may only be a matter of time before Sling has a full presence on Apple’s new black box. Sling TV is “still evaluating this opportunity”, a company spokesperson said. The device plugs into a TV’s HDMI port, connects to Wi-Fi, and “casts” content from mobile devices on the same network to the TV. Additional a la carte-like add-ons include “Sports Extra”, “Hollywood Extra”, “Kids Extra”, “Lifestyle Extra”, “World News Extra” and Spanish language add-ons, “Deportes Extras” and “Películas & Novelas Extra”, each for $5 per month. That’s two months and $40 worth of television for free.

Combining Sling TV with Google Chromecast is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to be a “cord-cutter”. Replacing cable with internet TV options instead.

For those who already have a Chromecast, you’ll be entitled to a free 2-month trial of that same package.
