Meningiomas are a diverse set of tumors arising from the meninges, the membranous layers surrounding the central nervous system.

While the tumors are often benign, their location is troublesome.

Kuric, a 6-foot-4 wing, has played the last three years in Spain, first with Asefa Estudiantes and then with Gran Canarias, where he signed last year.

Kuric played for the Cardinals for four years and helped the team reach the Final Four in 2012.

The school said it had not been notified of Kuric’s condition, having only heard about the release from his team in Spain this afternoon.

Kuric and his wife, Taraneh, welcomed twins into the world back in August.
