Fournier bullish on Lyon chances

Villas-Boas’ side top Group H with maximum points from three games, while Lyon prop up the standings having drawn once and lost twice heading into the fourth matchday. They are however doing much better in domestic Championship where they lie second, ten points behind leaders PSG, and have enjoyed back-to-back wins over Toulouse and Troyes as a preparation for the match against Zenit. “We are under pressure, we have no last chance”.

High-stake games are something the Lyon coach says he always looks forward to, but believes his side must find balance and avoid errors if they are to keep their campaign alive.

Zenit St Petersburg coach Andre Villas-Boas hopes his side can finish the job and book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday.

One of the more interesting match ups on Wedensday night will be the meeting of Zenit and Lyon in France. Zenit has won their first three games and sits atop the group with nine points and is looking to punch their ticket to the knockout rounds.

“But we are very focused on the Champions League and we expect that those positive results can have an influence on Lyon’s game”. Lyon are on a good run in the league.

“It will be necessary to find balance in order to avoid Zenit’s counter-attack and it will be essential to avoid errors, which we have made in a few of our latest games”.

Lyon are without several players, Nabil Fekir (knee), Clement Grenier (thigh) and Gedeon Kalulu (ankle) all staying on the sidelines, while veteran midfielder Steed Malbranque (calf) and defender Milan Bisevac (thigh) are a doubt.
