Cop-bashing Tarantino called police for help

Yet Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said Tarantino “does not comprehend the character of the violence” police officers confront in their work.

The Association of Orange County Deputy Sheriffs joined others in boycotting the upcoming western The Hateful Eight because director Quentin Tarantino “is misinformed”, labeled “law enforcement professionals as murderers” and fanned “the flames of an already heated public discussion”, according to the union’s president.

“Instead of dealing with the incidents of police brutality that those people were bringing up, instead of examining the problem of police brutality in this country, better they single me out”, he said. “What I said was the truth”, he said.

Numerous police who are protesting the movie have argued that Tarantino’s remarks were especially insensitive because they came days after an NYPD officer was shot and killed in East Harlem.

He said: “The people who are screaming against me are the mouthpieces for the police”. “The “Pulp Fiction” filmmaker has since been the subject of calls for a boycott from New York, Los Angeles, Houston, New Jersey, Chicago, and Philadelphia police unions”.

Police officers have been murdered simply for the badges they wear over their hearts and for doing the job they swore they would do.

“When I see murders, I do not stand by”, Tarantino said. “I never even implied that”, he told the Los Angeles Times.

Until an apology comes, Southwood said, the group is urging “all citizens to boycott Tarantino’s films, many of which glorify the violence he claims to be against with his thoughtless, deliberately inflammatory and “dead wrong” comments”.

“I’m not being intimidated”, he said.

The Oscar-winning director hit headlines after he took to the streets of New York City to join protests against alleged mistreatment of suspects in police custody, and he was reported to have branded cops “murderers” in a speech. “And their message is very clear”. It’s to discredit me.

In his recent interview, Tarantino pushed back.

It is unclear how big the impact the boycott will be on the film’s box office takings but the subsequent media debate may encourage others to watch it as it gets more interest and social media discussion online.

Quentin Tarantino apparently never heard the Rule of Holes: When you’re in one, stop digging.

“Director Quentin can and ought to be permitted to speak for himself”.

Tarantino says he has no choice but to call the murdered the murdered and the murderer the murderer
