United Kingdom ranked ‘best European Union country for start-ups’

The third and top entry from Nordic lands, Norway has been first for the last seven years and continues to hold onto the crown, ranking in the top 10 of every single subindex.

Canada is the freest country in the world and also one of the most prosperous countries with an overall rank of 6.

On the various sub-categories, Canada ranks eighth for its economy, 15th for entrepreneurship and opportunity, seventh for governance, a high second for education, 11th of health, ninth for safety and security and sixth for “social capital”.

Apart from being the freest country in the world, Canada was also named as the most tolerant nation on Earth, with 92 percent of Canadians thinking that the country is an ideal place for immigrants and ethnic minorities, reported Deseret News. At the other end of the spectrum lies the Central African Republic, which is dubbed as the least prosperous in the world.

Amidst the prevalent intolerance outrage across the country, India stands at 79 in personal freedom category.

94 per cent of Canadians believe they have the freedom to choose the course of their life.

Climbing two spots since a year ago, Ireland ranked highly among the 142 countries in the 2015 Legatum Prosperity Index.

Sri Lanka ranked 61st in Legatum Prosperity Index 2015
