NASA Accepting Astronaut Applications
Candidates who make it through the initial screening must be able to pass NASA’s long-duration spaceflight physical before being accepted to the program.

After initial screening and selection, applicants will be put through a weeklong process of personal interviews, medical screenings and orientation. “NASA has taken the next step in the evolution of our nation’s human spaceflight program – and our USA astronauts will be at the forefront of these new and challenging space flight missions”.
The agency said it plans to announce the new astronaut candidates in mid-2017.
Here’s a job post you won’t find on LinkedIn: NASA is seeking a new generation of astronauts for its mission to Mars. It also said that launches would again take place from Florida’s Space Coast on American-made spacecraft. NASA stated it would close the application period in “mid-February” and would select candidates in “mid-2017”.
NASA has recently announced an event at the James Webb Auditorium in Washington & this briefing will be on the atmosphere of Mars & not regarding life on this barren planet as many people seem to believe. Well, you’re in luck: NASA is looking for its next group of astronauts, and that could be you.
There are now 47 astronauts in the active astronaut corps.
“More will be needed to crew future missions to the space station and destinations in deep space”, Nasa said in a statement. And my daughter, who has repeatedly expressed interest in becoming one and going to Mars, is too young (thankfully) at age 14.
MAVEN is just one of the five spacecraft in Mars’ orbit.
In 2011, the last time the agency advertised for astronauts, U.S. space policy was in disarray with a forced hiatus in the human space programme after the closure of the shuttle programme, The Guardian reported.
According to a release from the agency, the next class of astronauts could fly on the worldwide Space Station, two commercial crew spacecraft in development or NASA’s Orion deep-space exploration vehicle.
