At least 171 million doses of flu vaccine are expected this season. Symptoms can last from a few days to less than two weeks, but some people may develop complications which can be life-threatening.

– Encourage employees to stay home if they’re sick.
State health officials offered these tips to halt the spread of the disease. Insurance cards must be presented at time of shot.
– Remind your employees about good hygiene practices, especially important during flu season: coughing or sneezing or into the inside of your elbow, washing hands frequently, and using hand sanitizer if handwashing is not an option.
In addition, people who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from the flu, including healthcare workers, and household visitors of persons at high risk for complications from the flu should be vaccinated.
