Colts’ comeback falls just short as Panthers stay unbeaten
The Indianapolis Colts failed to show up until the fourth quarter, again, and fell to the Carolina Panthers on Monday.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck criticized himself for throwing three interceptions in his team’s overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers on Monday night. His 24-yard FG as time expired sent the game to overtime. The Colts and Andrew Luck, their enormously talented but erratic quarterback, scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns and, as the clock wound down, a field goal. At 7-0, Carolina is one-of-four teams to start flawless through seven games.
In the extra period, the Colts took the lead briefly on a field goal, but weren’t able to stop the Panthers. Around the rest of the slate, the Seahawks came back late to win a key game in Dallas to improve to 4-4 heading into their bye week, and the Vikings beat the Bears to improve to 5-2, proving that the preseason hype declaring them potential playoff contenders wasn’t just hot air.
PANTHERS ON THE RUN: The Panthers recorded 140 yards rushing, marking the 18th consecutive 100-yard rushing game.
At one point, the Panthers almost gave the game to the Colts.
Olsen said the Panthers are a team built on handling adversity.
“It’s my problem, and it’s hurting the team”, Luck said of his interceptions. “I had a clear bag just like anybody else would… and I got searched”.
“I think a lot of it has to do with his maturing right now. That’s what the fans come to the games to see”. Both teams traded field goals on their first two possessions of OT, with Gano extending the game on a 42-yard boot after Adam Vinatieri (vin-ah-TEHR’-ee) hit one from 50 yards out.
If he does end up retiring with the Panthers, it would likely be ceremonious, not a situation where he’s back on the field. “I thought, ‘Oh, we’ve got to scoot it up!’ I looked up and the play clock was at 10”.
Madrid told WSOC-TV in Charlotte that they went through security.
The Panthers matched it when Gano connected on a 42-yard field goal at a rainy Bank of America Stadium. He was better when the rain became lighter in the second half, finishing with 248 yards and touchdown tosses to tight end Greg Olsen and receiver Philly Brown. It’s points. It’s short field position.
Two activists grabbed a few attention after rappelling on ropes from the upper deck holding a protest sign for most of the second half as fans watched in awe. We keep grinding, pick our heads up and get back to work. That’s the thing that I think is a huge plus and that’s something that a couple years we may not have had that kind of ability.

The win gives the Panthers an 11 game winning streak, which is the longest active streak in the National Football League. But Carolina coach Ron Rivera chose to go for it on fourth-and-one.
