Matt Forte’s knee injury not season-ending, but no timetable for return
ESPN’s Chris Mortenson said yesterday on NFL Insiders that Forte will miss “at least two weeks” and that he “obviously” won’t be ready to play this Monday night against the Chargers. Forte is their leading rusher with 548 rushing yards. Early reports seem to indicate that Forte and Royal will be able to play for the Bears again before the end of the season.

Fox declined to say whether Rodgers experienced the same issues in Carolina or Denver.
“So he’s adapted to that very well as a rookie coming in from college to the National Football League”.
QB Jay Cutler had a 94.4 passer rating with a touchdown pass and 211 yards passing, completing 22 of 33 attempts, but the play his teammates were raving about in the locker room was the 4-yard touchdown run that put Chicago ahead 20-13 in the fourth quarter.
Much like the Bears’ defense this season, the team’s special team unit does not have a coaching problem. A strong running back is a hard position to fill, and Forte’s injury may be a little more serious than Royal’s. “But nobody rescues you; you just make do with what you have”.
Jeremy Langford replaced Forte in the lineup and Marc Mariani took Royal’s reps in the slot. As for the offense Jay Cutler went without a turnover and showed poise and patience at a number of times in the game. Safety Antrel Rolle gave up the pass completion to give Minnesota its game-winning field goal, and cornerback Sherrick McManis looked completely lost stumbling around while trying to stop Stefon Diggs on the game-tying TD catch.
They juggled their offensive line with center Hroniss Grasu sitting out Sunday’s game with a neck injury.
-RUSH DEFENSE: C. Trying to stop Adrian Peterson is a chore, and the best contribution the run defense made was not letting him get a true breakaway run. “Some exceptional throws and catches by our guys on the back end”.
The final grade this week is an F for special teams, which allowed the third kick/punt return touchdown of the season.
Punt return rewind: Following another return score given up, Fox said Marcus Sherels’ 65-yard score “was not a well-executed play” from the placement of the kick to the contain.

With two minutes to go the Bears had a seven-point lead.
