With decks being cleared for deportation of underworld don Chhota Rajan (in picture) to India, Mumbai police said on Tuesday they were yet to receive any official communication on when the arrested gangster will be brought back. The sources further said Rajan’s security is the responsibility of the Central government and he must be handed over to the Interpol or the Central Bureau of Investigation, but not the Mumbai or Delhi Police.

“He needs a new kidney to survive”, the sources said, adding that his reported surrender in Bali could be part of his plan to get proper medical treatment in India. Rajan is expected to be taken to Mumbai via Delhi.

Mumbai, November 3 (ANI): Assistant Commissioner of Police (Retd.) (ACP) Shamsher Pathan on Tuesday downplayed underworld don Chhota Rajan’s claim that a few Mumbai cops are linked to Dawood Ibrahim and said that there might be a few conspiracy behind such an assertion.

“If the lawyer engaged by Rajan does not oppose his deportation to India, we will hand him over to the Indian police team which has come here”. He also reiterated that he was not afraid of Dawood and will keep fighting against him and terror. The Delhi Government should do justice with me keeping that in mind.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Interpol has confirmed that Chhota Rajan, who has been arrested in Bali, will be deported to India tonight.

Out of these 75 cases, Rajan is facing four cases under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA), one under Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) and over 20 cases under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act. “But, the Delhi police is also investigating seven cases against him, including the high-profile CR park businessman extortion case in 2011 and other six FIRs filed in 1999 and 2002”.
