Man’s Body Recovered From Plane Crash in Waters Off of Rockaway

Officials say the aircraft is believed to be a 4-6 passenger Cessna-type aircraft.

The single engine airplane went down in Breezy Point, Queens, around 7:30 p.m., New York police said.

Authorities had arrived at the scene following 911 calls from witnesses reporting a plane down shortly before 8pm.

It was not immediately learned whether any bodies had been found, sources said.

A plane that departed from Philadelphia crashed off the coast of Queens, New York Wednesday night.

After almost five hours of combing the waters off Breezy Point, crews called off a search overnight in the wake of a small-plane crash in the Atlantic Ocean near Queens but they are expected to begin scouring the area again later Thursday.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it does not have any reports of a missing plane in the area. “The FAA will investigate”.

Google The plane landed in the water about a mile out from Breezy Point beach.

It’s still not clear how many people were on the plane.

There was no word of survivors.
