A statue of comedian Bill Cosby is reportedly being removed from Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida.

The bronze bust was part of Disney’s Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza alongside the likes of Lucille Ball and Oprah Winfrey. It comes after new revelations in Cosby’s sexual assault investigation.

On Monday (06Jul15), details were released from a 2005 court deposition in which Cosby admitted to obtaining sedative drug Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with.

“To not be able to walk through Disney without having that hard encounter, it makes me sad”, said Brittany Gavrilova, whose aunt is one of the alleged victims.

The statue was to come down Tuesday night after the park’s 10 p.m. closure.

An online petition to have it removed is gaining momentum and many didn’t know there was a Cosby statue at Disney.
