Younis Khan returns as PCB announces ODI squad

Senior batsman Younis Khan has been included in the 16-man squad for the one-day series against England starting later this month, despite reservations over his current form.

The 37-year-old batsman was discarded from the one-day team after a poor tour of New Zealand and 2015 World Cup in April, where he managed just 77 runs in six matches.

Younis was in a hot discussions by experts for induction in the one-day and finally got selectors nod.

Azhar Ali will lead Pakistan’s one-day team. He has scored 7,240 runs in 264 ODIs with seven centuries and has always insisted he could still play the 50-over format despite being overlooked by the selectors in recent years.

The selectors included several youngsters in the ODI squad bring in uncapped left arm spinner and allrounder Zafar Gohar and retaining allrounders Bilal Asif, Aamir Yameen and Anwar Ali as well.

Pakistan had earlier today clinched the three-match Test series 2-0, following their 127 run-win in the final match at Sharjah.

Pakistan and England will also play three Twenty20 internationals for which a squad will be announced later.

Pakistan squad: Azhar Ali (captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfraz Ahmed, Anwar Ali, Amir Yamin, Yasir Shah, Zafar Gohar, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan, Rahat Ali, Bilal Asif.

It is to be kept in mind that ODI series between both sides will be start from November 11, both sides will contest in 4 ODI games with each other.
