Thornton Heath dominates MOBO Awards as Krept & Konan, Stormzy, Section Boys

Rita, now a judge on The X Factor alongside Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw, received a nod for Best Video for Body On Me, which also features Chris Brown.

And by chance for a sure few, the gongs are based mostly purely on talent relatively than fashion sense at the MOBO Awards.

The 41-year-old musician will receive the Outstanding Achievement prize in the ceremony at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, where he will also perform.

Krept and Konan were equally as prolific after four nominations translated to two awards: best hip-hop act, and best album for their debut LP Long Way Down.

Henry was the second victor of the inaugural prize after the “Godfather of Grime” Wiley accepted his earlier this week with a plaque placed at his former secondary school in Bow, East London.

Another notable nominee this year is London-based singer Fka Twigs, who has been thrice nominated: Best Female, Best Video for “Pendulum” and Best Video for “Glass and Patron”.

This year’s sold out MOBO Awards are taking place on Wednesday 4th November and will be broadcast live at 8pm on ITV2 and repeated in full on ITV1 at 10:40pm.
