The Android editions of these applications arrived in their respective stores late last month, but the Apple’s iOS version kicked off online over the holiday weekend in the United States.

Amazon Cloud Drive is also available for a 3-month trial. With extended functionality Amazon’s Cloud Drive could become a killer app.

Amazon also offers a $12 yearly plan and it includes unlimited storage for photographs and 5GB storage for other files, according to PC World. At $60 per year, it’s the cheapest unlimited storage plan you can get.

The concept is similar to Dropbox, Google Drive and other services.

Google has launched its Google Cloud Console Android app and hinted that the iOS app will be following quickly in the coming months. While it’s still hard to recommend for now, the new apps are a sign that Amazon is starting to take its feature set more seriously.
