Patrick Kane: Patrick Kane among Hawks with 2 points in win

Things looked to be pointing in a positive direction for the Kings until Chicago’s Patrick Kane took over the game in the third period, netting the game-tying goal, and dishing out a phenomenal assist on Teuvo Teravainen’s game-winner.

The Blackhawks got on the scoreboard first at 6:01 of the first period when Garbutt sent a crossing pass to fellow center Jonathan Toews, who slammed a 20-foot slap shot past Quick (22 saves).

Left winger Artem Anisimov and center Teuvo Teravainen each had a game fit for a king – and they gave the Kings fits. The Russian nearly tripled his goal output the following season, scoring 21 while adding 22 assists in 64 contests.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Jake Virtanen scored his first National Hockey League goal to lead Vancouver.

With just 1:33 remaining in the game, Jonathan Toews hit Anisimov with a pass to send him in on a breakaway, and Anisimov finished with a smooth backhand-forehand deke.

Kane and Toews each had a goal and an assist to lead the Blackhawks to a 4-2 victory over Los Angeles on Monday night, snapping the Kings’ seven-game winning streak.

“Going into the third down a goal, I think that’s a big confidence boost for us, knowing we can come back, we can score goals”, Kane said.

“If we could have made it 3-1, it probably would have made a big difference”, Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter said. The Blackhawks have scored fewer than two goals in five of their 11 games this season, including three straight prior to the setback to the Wild, and more than three only three times. Panarin got a pass as he came out of the penalty box and set himself up with a clean breakaway, but Quick stoned him to keep the game tied. Kane also had a good chance as he fired a puck from behind the net back into the crease, but the puck bounced off of Quick’s pad and skidded just wide of the post. Bickell, 29, has struggled since he was rewarded in June 2013 with a four-year contract extension that pays $4 million annually.
