Apple grows revenue, profits

“Today we’re reporting a very strong finish to a record-breaking year”, Cook said. Its net profit was at $11.2 billion, or $1.96 per share, in the quarter ended September 26, against $8.47 billion, or $1.42 per share, in the year-ago period.
China contributed $12.5 billion in revenue which was down by five percent from the past quarter.
Following the results were shown in a conference call, Apple CEO Tim Cook claimed that 30% of all iPhone purchases in the quarter were a outcome of users switching from Google Android.
Analysts at Bernstein believe that the aforementioned revenue guidance will be viewed positively by investors although the tech giant failed to provide explicit assurance pertaining to iPhone demand for the March quarter which is likely to keep the stock range-bound in the near-term.
That number is the largest that we’ve ever recorded since we began measuring it three or so years ago.
It is worthwhile pointing out that analysts have been predicting trouble ahead for Apple as its days of mega-growth appear to be over so they had low expectations. Note that this decrease is not due to worldwide markets making less money, they are making Apple more money than ever before, however, the USA sales have increased at a greater rate.
For the all of fiscal 2015, Apple reported total sales of $233.7 billion.
The remaining category Apple refers to as “other products”, covering the Apple Watch, iPod, Beats headphones, Apple TV, AirPort routers, and other accessories, booked $3.05 billion for the quarter, compared to $1.9 billion for the same period in 2014.
“We continue to have wonderful success there”, Apple’s chief financial officer, Luca Maestri, told Reuters.
