Watch Sia’s New ‘Alive’ Music Video

Donning the half-and-half wig in this new video is young Mahiro Takano from Japan whose fierce martial-arts routine likely won’t be quite as viral as Maddie Ziegler’s haunting choreography for both “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart”.

It was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, her collaborator on the “Chandelier” video that has now posted more than 965 million views.

Sia has released the music video for “Alive”, the first single from her upcoming new album “This Is Acting”.

The Australian singer-songwriter has famously employed the talents of others to perform in her videos, for live performances and also while accepting awards on her behalf, including Ziegler, Girls creator Lena Dunham and Fall out Boy’s Pete Wentz.

Sia actually wrote the song “Alive” for fellow recording artist Adele, but it ultimately ended up on this album instead. Earlier this year, she made a splash in the non-reality TV world with a guest-starring dance spot on “Pretty Little Liars”. “Bird Set Free”, another track from “This Is Acting”, is being offered as a free download for anyone who pre-orders the new album. This Is Acting is scheduled for a January 26, 2016 release date.
