Marco Rubio Immigration Reform: Candidate Hardens Opposition To DACA After
The Florida Republican corrected a questioner at a “Life of the Party” event in New Hampshire Wednesday who compared Sanders’ brand of socialism with what Rubio’s family fled when they left Cuba. The executive action has since granted temporary deportation relief and work authorization to as many as 680,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children.

“I wouldn’t say that we would immediately reverse that one”, he said in April, when asked if he would end DACA if elected president.
Since Congress has yet to pass a legitimate bill regarding immigration reform, it seems like Rubio has jumped ship and caved into the pressure of getting rid of the plan altogether. “Rubio wants to deport me, and hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth”, Jassiel Perez, a DACA recipient with the immigrant activist group United We Dream. Feeling he was in a unique position to address the issue, Rubio nearly immediately made a swing for the fences by taking on the big immigration problem facing the nation.
He declined to criticize Sanders for being too extreme in his views, saying what while he doesn’t “think it works for America”, Rubio explained, “What I appreciate about Bernie is he’s not trying to shirk from it. It’s what he believes in”.
As Breitbart News notes: “So Rubio is pledging to carry Obama’s policy: leaving the executive amnesty for DREAMers in place until Congress submits to the order by legislatively ratifying amnesty”. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., for his call to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Many Republican candidates running for president have vowed that they would end both programs immediately on the basis that they are illegal – including Christie.
“This is just another example of the Trump effect: where GOP presidential candidates respond to Donald Trump’s attacks on immigration by tacking hard right”, Tramonte said in a statement.
Rubio’s position on comprehensive immigration reform has changed dramatically since announcing his bid for presidency. “And the ideal way for it to end is that it’s replaced by a reform system that creates an alternative”, Rubio said while in Manchester, Hampshire.
He told reporters he hopes there can be legislation – something he attempted – but if Congress can’t act, “it will end. Conservative Media Personalities” By Supporting Comprehensive Immigration Reform. In that sense, he’s no different from the repeat-lawbreaker now occupying the White House. “I think it will have to end at a few point”.
Immigration hawks such as Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter appear unlikely to ever give Rubio a second chance.
It makes for a complicated media landscape for Rubio in the highly influential land of conservative talk radio and TV as he seeks to capitalize on momentum from his strong debate performances and subsequent rise in the polls.
Malkin has accused Rubio of being in the pocket of “his amnesty-peddling campaign donors”, while Coulter consistently rails against Rubio as a liar and traitor on the issue.

In electoral terms, Rubio wants GOP voters to believe he’ll fare well with voters in immigrant communities because of his ethnicity.
