Angelina Jolie Covers WSJ Magazine for November 2015

“For me, the big moment was when (we) signed the papers for Maddox and Zahara”. During these early years, the Tomb Raider actress wanted to dig deep into film characters in order to gain a connection, saying: “It was an excuse to understanding behaviour, understanding different people, walks of life”.

Jolie also spoke about what kind of impact losing her mother to ovarian cancer has had on her relationship with her own children. In fact, she wrote the script shortly after she died. “You have to understand that this is a woman who never knew she’d make it to 40. Even if I’m going through something, I make sure they are very aware that I’m totally fine”, Angelina explains, referring to her double mastectomy. A movie poster for their film By The Sea bills her as Angelina Jolie Pitt! I never, ever want them to have that secret worry and feel that they have to take care of me. “I told them I didn’t think they realized what they’d be bringing upon the agency, that a lot of people didn’t see me the same way they did, and I thought it would be a negative”.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are quite the team when it comes to raising their six kids. “We had a few of the same nurses, a few of the same doctors”, Jolie told Today. “So, the doctor that did my ovary surgery was my mother’s doctor”.

Angie confirmed that she has taken Brad’s last name but it wasn’t a formal announcement.

Angelina Jolie has been pretty tight-lipped about her personal life over the years, but she’s opening up about her teenage depression, recent health decisions, and her mother’s death while promoting “By the Sea”, a new drama she directed and co-stars with husband Brad Pitt in.

Key phrases: “I had someone call her” and “I knew it was going to unravel for her”.

“I want to make sure my kids are never anxious about me”, Angelina admits. “I didn’t know where to put myself”. “That would be cheating”.

Angelina, 40, looked every bit the proud victor at the award show but her strength has not always been a prominent presence in her life. Action films, Jolie told WSJ, once served as a helpful outlet.
