FKA Twigs, from Tewkesbury, wows crowds and wins award at MOBO ceremony
The comic had the audience on its feet during his speech as he said he “could only have got here from standing on the shoulders of giants” and went on to name-check famous faces from Bob Marley to Michael Jackson and “that bloke from the Halifax advert”. “Working with Kanya King the founder and CEO is a privilege, she started this event from her bedroom and it is now one of the largest celebrations in the music and awards calendar”.

“It’s a huge honour”.
Sir Lenny revealed that his paving slab would be laid in Buffery Park in Dudley, where he used to play as a child.
The night attracted more than just musicians, with The Great British Bake Off’s Nadiya Hussain wowing in blue alongside her dapper husband.
Accepting her award FKA Twigs, better known as Tahlia Barnett in Tewkesbury, said: “I’m not good at speaking…”
This year the awards will see X Factor judge Rita Ora as well as Naughty Boy, and Ella Eyre take the stage.
FKA twigs grabbed Best Video for “Pendulum”.
She was also nominated for her video for Glass and Patron and in the best female category.
She took to the stage in a barely-there leather leotard and fishnet tights for a very racy performance at the MOBOs on Wednesday.

Other winners on the night included Drake for Best worldwide Album, Stormzy for Best Grime and Best Male Act, and Skepta for Best Song with “Shutdown”. “Hey bots we didt win but it’s ok I still have the best fans in the world!!” she tweeted.
