Khaki Chaddi to be replaced by full pants
The decade old half-pants worn by RSS swayamsevaks could soon make way for trousers as the Sangh considers a new dress code to attract the youth.

The organisation is understood to be thinking of the change to keep pace with the times and appear attractive for the youth, who refrain from using the shorts fearing teasing.
Mumbai: Following suggestions by a few senior officer-bearers that the traditional khaki shorts be replaced by full-length trousers, Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the highest decision-making body of the RSS, has formed a committee to examine the issue.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (or RSS) is an organization known for the hard-line Hindu ideology that its millions of members and associated political parties (including the Bharatiya Janata Party of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi) espouse.
“Half-pants is our most reputed and trusted brand and this is why we say that shorts are there only because of the Sangh, and the Sangh is not because of the shorts”, said Mr Modh. The white shirt replaced Khaki shirts in 1940.
From the time the RSS was established, the “ganvesh” has been the marker of its cadre. The second one was in early 1970s when brown shoes replaced the original boots and the third in 2010 when leather belts were dumped for canvas ones.
The RSS dress-code till the start of World War-II was the all-khaki uniform.
If the decision is made then the dress code may be like this: White T-shirt and black pants or White full shirt and khaki pants.

This is the first time the uniform would undergo such a major change. The RSS is once again re-evaluating the need for change.
