Mississippi State travels to face struggling Missouri squad

The Tigers have had two weeks to prepare for Mississippi State, which is most likely going to dance on the grave of the hopes of dreams of Gary Pinkel’s season.

Prescott is the SEC’s active leader in total touchdowns (96), total offense (10,023), completions (591), passing yards (7,631), touchdown passes (55), rushing touchdowns (38) and rushing yards by a quarterback (2,304). I do think that Tennessee could beat both Texas A&M and Mississippi State if they played this week, but regardless of how the season ends for the Vols, 2015 will always leave “what if?” lingering in the minds of Vol fans.

That defense will be tested by a Mississippi State team that, were it not for a slow start, a failed two-point conversion and a delay of game penalty all on September 12, might be one of the one-loss teams the nation notices.

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen is concerned about Missouri’s pass rush.

The Bulldogs enter the game on a three-game winning streak, while the Tigers have lost three in a row. Widely picked to finish sixth or seventh in the SEC West this season, the Bulldogs finish the regular season with a brutal three-game stretch against Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss. “I am fortunate to have a coaching staff that’s been together for a while and our offense has enough flexibility in it that we can highlight strengths of different players”. The Bulldogs are the only SEC team that hasn’t yielded a touchdown in the final period in 2015. The official time and network will be unveiled following this Saturday’s slate of games. Prescott has thrown the ball 260 times this year and been intercepted just once. He’s also rushed for 371 yards – the most by a Mississippi State player – and seven touchdowns on 72 attempts. He added 117 yards and three TDs on 13 carries. Leonard Fournette will finally see an equal at his position on the field, and each team has had two weeks to prepare for each other. By the time they polished off a six-play, 82-yard drive that took just 1:32, they had cut the margin to 21-19 with 4 minutes to play.

Sitting at 4-4 Straight Up (SU) and 2-6 Against The Spread (ATS), the Tigers will look to improve heading into Week 10. South Carolina must head to Knoxville and take on a Tennessee team that is picking up steam late in the season. De’Runnya Wilson is the leading receiver with 32 catches for 511 yards and six touchdowns. The Bulldogs’ most recent loss to an unranked team came on September 14, 2013, when they fell 24-20 to Auburn, which went on to win the SEC championship and play in the BCS national championship game for that season.

The Bulldogs are averaging 149.6 rushing ypg., but that number slips to 124.8 in SEC games.
