Obama: ‘Possibility’ That Bomb Brought Down Russian Airliner

“Whenever you’ve got a plane crash, first of all you’ve got the tragedy, you’ve got-making sure there’s an investigation on site”.

Sisi has been condemned by worldwide human rights watchdogs since launching a crackdown against the Muslim Brotherhood – Morsi’s party, which his government considers a terrorist organisation, and other opposition groups.

On the BBC, Cameron said: “We can not be certain that the Russian airliner was brought down by a terrorist bomb, but it looks increasingly likely that that was case”. “And we’re taking that very seriously”, said Obama in an interview with a radio station that was quoted by TV network CNN.

Cameron’s office announced later Thursday that British and Egyptian officials “agreed on a package of additional security measures that is being put in place rapidly”, and flights to Britain from Sharm el-Sheikh would resume Friday. It has the potential to deeply damage Egypt’s tourism industry, still struggling to recover from a turbulent few years following the revolution of 2011.

Budget airline easyJet said its flights to and from Sharm el-Sheikh were cancelled on Thursday in view of the government’s advice and that its future schedule would be kept under review.

“However, we can’t rule anything out, including the possibility of terrorist involvement”, said Josh Earnest, White House Press Secretary. Obama was speaking just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin chided Britain’s prime minister for similar comments.

However, he said he understood Britain’s concern.

Britain temporarily suspended flights between Sharm el-Sheikh and Britain due to the intelligence, and warned against all but essential travel by air to the resort due to new intelligence.

“We will crush those infidels, we will drive them out of our lands and we will even reach their own lands”, the Russian-speaking IS member says in the video.

Egypt and Russian Federation have called Cameron’s suggestion mere “speculation”.

“The investigation team does not have yet any evidence or data confirming this hypothesis”, Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Hossam Kamal said.

In Moscow, Russia’s airline regulator attempted to shift the focus of the crash investigation back to safety issues by questioning the flying certificates of all Boeing 737 aircraft, a different type of plane than the one that crashed in Egypt.

“Russia recently has increased its presence in Syria and so the fact that ISIS may want to respond is not unlikely at all”, said Rep. Eric Swalwel, (D) California.

Russian Federation on Thursday began burying a few of those killed in the crash, which could affect strong public support for the Kremlin’s air strikes in Syria. What we want to do tomorrow is to see as many people come home who want to come home, and for them to be safe to do so. The hardline group, which also has a presence in Egypt’s neighbor Libya, is waging a campaign of suicide bombings and shootings in Egypt created to topple the government of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
