Curry scores 31 to lead Warriors past Clippers, 112-108

It sure helps that they have the MVP on their side.

The Warriors (5-0) won their first four games by a league-record 100 points before rallying at home Wednesday and beating the Los Angeles Clippers 112-108. Once Curry re-entered the game, the Dubs took off. After the Clippers scored the opening basket of the quarter, the Warriors went on a 15-2 run, the final nine points of which came by way of Curry. Who would be another player, besides Curry, who needs to perform well for the Warriors to be successful most nights? “We answered the bell”.

Ty Lawson had a double-double game with 14 points and 11 assists, while Dwight Howard added 16.

Clippers forward Blake Griffin was strong all around with 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and DeAndre Jordan snagged 13 rebounds to become the franchise’s all-time leading rebounder, surpassing Elton Brand. While it’s still early in the season, this is hugely positive for them as much speculation surrounded their potential without head coach Steve Kerr. “That’s the difference right now between us and them, them being together and them executing”.

The defending champion Golden State Warriors are on a mission early this season.

Barnes hit a pair of 3-pointers to start the spurt. Powered by a string of late-game magic, the Golden State Warriors managed to get back into the game with their pump-action offense and tight defense.

Curry then made two three-pointers, celebrating the second one by simply raising both arms into the air as the Warriors went ahead by four points.

“It would’ve been better if we got the win, but it’s cool”, Jordan said.

In the history of the National Basketball Association, these are the teams that have had consecutive seasons with 5-0 starts: 1963-64 and 1964-65 Boston Celtics; 1966-67 and 1967-68 Philadelphia 76ers; 1993-94 and 1994-95 Houston Rockets; 1995-96 and 1996-97 Chicago Bulls.

Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry is off to a monster start. MVP Stephen Curry usually gets the majority of the love – and he’s more than earned his fair share of love – but clearly the Dubs are much more than just one player.

Whistles were blown almost every 20 second for the remainder of the game, and the score changed a few.

Paul left in the final seconds with a strained right groin. “Draymond takes his matchups seriously”, Curry commented, “there are certain guys he wants to play well against”. Paul tried to sneak back on the court before Rivers said he had to drag him back to the bench.

In the third quarter alone he scored 28 points and you will see each shot in the video below.

The Golden State Warriors are coming from a 119-69 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.
