Patrick Kane won’t be charged in rape case

Sedita said the 21-year-old accuser had recently signed an affidavit saying she did not want to press charges.

Connors said although the evidence was false, and the case had integrity throughout the whole process, the case turned south far sooner to him. “It has been tried in the media from the start”.

Kane has been permitted to play throughout the investigation. Patrick Kane extended his point streak to eight games by collecting a goal and an assist for the second straight contest in Chicago’s stunning 6-5 setback to St. Louis on Wednesday.

Patrick Kane will not be charged by the Erie County District Attorney Office. At this time, there is no indication that there will be further legal action on either side.

Kane is one of the league’s most prolific scorers in recent memory. To date, the league has approved of how the Blackhawks have handled the situation.

The assertion here never was that Kane was guilty, only that the Hawks should have waited for more clarity before allowing him on the ice.

Kane’s attorney, Paul Cambria, said he was not surprised.

This result was pretty much expected from the minute that the Mother of the accuser brought the hoax bag of evidence in and their attorney made it public.

“The physical evidence and the forensic evidence, when viewed in tandem, tend to contradict the complainant’s claim that she was raped on Kane’s bed”.

The Blackhawks star was accused of raping a woman in her 20’s at his home in Buffalo on August 2.

The accuser in this case may still file a civil lawsuit against Kane. That’s why they were not going to be presenting the matter to a Grand Jury.

She had bite marks on her shoulders and a scratch on her leg. Kane’s DNA was found on her shoulders but not in her undergarments or anywhere below her waist, according to Buffalo News reports, citing sources close to the investigation.

Maybe it’s because the decision not to press charges isn’t a full exoneration of Kane, at least in the way that a not guilty finding at trial would be.

Sedita called it a fake at a news conference two days after the evidence bag shown to reporters.

Because he met the woman at a bar and reportedly had been drinking that night, a few have publicly questioned whether he has a problem with alcohol. In an indictment Kane had threatened up to 35 years in prison. Neither Kane nor Blackhawks President John McDonough, however, would address the issue when asked at training camp if Kane needed to stop drinking.

A three-month investigation concluded only that Kane was guilty of perhaps poor judgment, but on that he is a repeat offender.
