Leading actor Daniel Craig waxed poetic about the apocalyptic opening scenes in the James Bond flick “Spectre”, as the film prepared its regional premiere in Mexico City where a few of those parts were shot.

The latest instalment in the James Bond franchise has set a new British record when it comes to box office sales, after making an estimated £41.7m ($63.8m) in its first week of release.
However, Britain wasn’t alone in shattering box office records as almost every releasing market saw Spectre make history as the biggest box office opening of all time. The film is rumored to be Daniel Craig’s last stint as the martini-swilling secret agent.
Sandra Bullock’s Our Brand is Crisis, and Bradley Cooper’s Burnt brought in a underwhelming $3.3m (GBP2.1m) and $5.1m (GBP3.3m) respectively.
In six territories, the Sam Mendes-directed film has taken in $80.4 million including $67.7 million from Sony’s markets and $12.7 million from territories in which MGM is distributing.
It’s interesting to note that “Skyfall” is the first Bond movie to cross the $1 billion mark so that means everyone is expecting “Spectre” to do the same.
The film has also set a new IMAX record, taking the highest per-location average in the company’s history with £68,000 in 47 IMAX locations. Elsewhere across Europe major records were broken in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway, where the movie outperformed its predecessor by roughly 30 percent. It also has big shoes to fill.
Skyfall, the previous chapter in the never ending series, was the highest-grossing 007 chapter in history, almost doubling Casino Royale’s $599 million worldwide haul.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer produced the picture and is distributing the film with Sony.

William, his wife Kate – dressed in a blue gown – and Prince Harry spoke to director Sam Mendes and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson for a few minutes after they arrived, mirror.co.uk reported.
