His co-host, Carrie Underwood said that no one could get over the breakup which rocked their world, the one which is on the mind of everyone, the two people who everyone loves the most.

However, instead of panning to Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, who announced this past summer that they were divorcing, the camera flashed to Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog.

“And on a completely unrelated note, Howdy Blake!” he said. The two poked fun at different personalities, including country singers that recently broke up like Blake Shelton and ex-wife Miranda Lambert.

Lambert’s win came on the same day it was confirmed her ex-husband was dating Gwen Stefani.

Timberlake sang alongside popular songwriter and singer Stapleton at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday night. Underwood and Paisley then talked about the awesome collaborations set up for the evening, most notably Justin Timberlake with Chris Stapleton.

Stapleton also took home Male Vocalist of the Year.

E! Online reports that Lambert said upon accepting the award, “Man, I really appreciate it. I needed a bright spot this year, so thank you”. The cameras then quickly turned to Shelton, who smiled and laughed at their little joke.

But Shelton wasn’t the only celeb Underwood and Paisley called out at the CMA Awards – they also mocked Josh Duggar’s cheating scandal with a song about Ashley Madison and joked about Caitlyn Jenner’s transition, singing, “Bruce Jenner’s a babe now”.

“This is unbelievable. I don’t know what to say”.

Florida Georgia Line won vocal duo of the year. Country music has a new biggest hit of all time with “Girl Crush”, a massive radio smash that should earn Little Big Town both Song and Single of the Year.
