Yahoo now surfaces your Flickr photos in its search engine

It could also be considered to be Yahoo’s attempt at further integrating the search capability that already exists within Flickr.

Yahoo announced they have integrated Flickr photos with Yahoo Search so that when you are logged into Yahoo and you have Flickr photos in your account, Yahoo Search will personalize the image search results with your photos and photos from your friends. You’ll have to be logged into your Yahoo account, which will pull up personalized Flickr results when searching for an image on Yahoo. This will include a few of your own images on Flickr, and images from other people, such as users you follow and top photos on the image service.

Google’s image search is just a hodgepodge of photos, but its intelligent algorithm has been known to showcase media you’ve posted to Google+. Flickr searches allow you to find similar images to what the new Yahoo image search will provide. Clicking a “More images” button in the Flickr results will take users directly to a page on Flickr with even more photo results.

This Yahoo feature is only available to web users in the U.S. It comes the day after Flickr released an updated iOS app that includes support for 3D Touch (similar to Instagram’s integration) and improvements to Spotlight search. In addition, the images can be sorted by specific license types.
