Google Maps has been getting increasingly useful as time goes on, even allowing users to see the hours that a store is open. Well, we have. Now Google Maps and Google Search will help you avoid that common holiday mistake.

Not every business has its holiday hours listed online, so if Google isn’t sure whether a particular business will be open on a given holiday, it will warn that the open hours may be different than the ones displayed. If you’ve ever walked to your favorite restaurant or driven to the store for a few last-minute Christmas shopping, only to realize it was closed because of a holiday, you’ll appreciate just how helpful this actually is.
The holidays are fast approaching and it’s safe to say we all know the frustration of arriving at a place or business only to find that it closed early because of special holiday hours. Google Maps’ hours information is probably one of the number one reasons I use the app, and it proves useful for most of the year.
I’m definitely not the only one that has been asking for this feature for years.
