Mason, who was diagnosed with autism a few months ago, finds the process of having a haircut overwhelming. “He wouldn’t allow me to go near one of his ears he would run away on times if he wasn’t up to it”.
In the Facebook post, Williams thanked Lewis’s parents for the opportunity to cut his hair and expressed that the most rewarding part was the young boy’s reaction.
Denine and partner Jamie Lewis, 29, visited James at Jim the Trim in Briton Ferry, Wales, numerous times.
“I think the fact that our boy has let James give him his first proper hair cut is just great”.
“Then on Tuesday Mason was lay on the flooring playing with my iPhone”.
Becoming desperate with Mason’s scruffy and patchy do, his mum Denine Davies took him to barber James Williams, 26, who is said to be good with children.
Mr Williams said: “Mason’s not happy with change, so the first time he came in I just sat on the floor with him to make him feel comfortable”.
“They have clearly gone through so much with him so to see him let me do it with no fuss clearly meant a lot”.
“I was slumped on all fours but had to keep persevering, as Mason was just letting me to do it – there was no way I was going to risk moving”.
The pictures of James and Mason on the floor together have since clocked up 24,000 “likes” and more than 4,000 shares.
