Windows 10 to launch automatically on a few PCs
While many will be pleased with this work around, Microsoft needs to make sure this bug is addressed in the final build that is pushed out to the over 100 million users of Windows 10. Cortana is also described to by Windows to be THAT clever personal assistant that you can ever have. But this time around, Microsoft has set a much faster deadline in order to increase the pressure on users to update to the latest Windows 10 operating system. Windows Insiders – a community which tests new Windows products – in the USA and China will be able to test a beta version of the app.

The closed-down nature of iOS means Cortana for iPhone won’t be as full-featured on the iPhone compared to Windows or even Android. Microsoft may also be looking for testers who use the app on a Windows 10 PC, it seems, as one of the survey questions was related to the frequency of their Windows 10 usage. Try saying “hey Cortana, translate “show me the way to the train station” in French” (replacing French with the language of your choice-nearly 40 are supported).
Cortana can help you with basic tasks like sending emails, scheduling events, and searching your device, the cloud, or the Web.
While a public beta of Cortana for Android was launched in August, Microsoft has yet to reveal when it plans to release the Android and iOS versions out of beta. Finally, the Insider Hub may disappear once the update is complete, but recovering it is as simple as going into Settings – System – Apps & Features and selecting “Manage optional features”.
Recently, a Windows engineered confirmed that the fall update would arrive on November 10, but the post has since been deleted.

It was a little over a year ago that Microsoft denied any intentions of bringing Cortana, its own voice-activated virtual assistant, to other mobile platforms. Microsoft has quietly updated its Windows Lifecycle Fact Sheet page, stating that October 31, 2016 is the last date until which retailers or OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) can sell Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8.1 pre-installed.
