Payne has two rides on the final day of the Cup carnival at Flemington on Saturday, both for Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Darren Weir.

His comments come after Payne, the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup, described the sport of horse racing a “chauvinistic” in a post-match speech.

She said: “It is hard but I’m sure there’s so many aspects of life that women go through and I just hope it’s a reminder that if you work hard and you dream, things can happen”. She’s an incredible horsewoman, she’s been told by doctors she shouldn’t be riding after a fall and her character has got her back.

The ex-politician went on to say women’s sport was in shadow of men’s sport for a reason, as “nature has given men greater strength”.

“This Dog reporter from the Herald Sun has taken what I said and turned it upside down”. I can’t wait to see this w****r…

“In the context of what was said about the boys club, I said, as far as I’m concerned, there is no boys club”. I so much support Girls’. Yes, it’s a male dominated sport.

“But 20 years ago there were no women riding”.

Boss quickly deleted the furious remarks.

‘(Sexism) comes from the ones that, like Paddy Payne said, “need better educating”,’ O’Hara wrote on Facebook.

“The times are changing and I’m part of it”, Boss said.

Champion jockey Glen Boss has lashed out at a News Corp report suggesting he “blasted” Melbourne Cup victor Michelle Payne.

“As for the ‘bee in her bonnet” comment, if people think that’s an attack on being a female jockey then you are very wrong… jockeys are all very competitive and I don’t know one who hasn’t had a bee in their bonnet at a few stage or another!’

Triumphant Michelle Payne has scored the biggest win of any female jockey in any race anywhere in the world
