Security tightened sharply in Kashmir ahead of Modi visit
The region’s Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has pinned great expectations with Modi’s upcoming visit and described it a “turning point” in the history of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

State Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu said, “We expect Modi’s visit to give a push to the Agenda of Alliance”.
Meanwhile, Special Police Officers (SPOs) working in Police Department have also been asked by authorities in Pulwama to assemble at Police Lines on Friday.
Modi said: “This is not the end, but the beginning of my dream for Kashmir. I invite all the shades of people of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward to bring peace, developments here”, Modi said. Police have detained separatist leaders and hundreds of their supporters to prevent the protest against Indian control over the disputed region.
“Without the eclectic, sufist culture of “Kashmiriyat” not only Kashmir, but entire India is incomplete”.
Modi is scheduled to address a public rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium on November 7, besides inaugurating the 450-megawatt Baglihar Phase II power project in Ramban district of the state.
Police rounded up top Hurriyat leaders after Syed Ali Shah Geelani called for a million people to walk to the centre of Srinagar near a stadium where Modi will address the rally.
It added, “The massive gathering of people in Kashmir for Hurriyat leadership is a stamp of approval for the realization of the right to self-determination by the Kashmiri people under United Nations auspices”. Along with the Jammu and Kashmir government, the people of Kashmir are excited for the Prime Minister’s visit.
The all inclusive package will cover relief for the 2014 flood victims, farmers, businessmen, youth employment, tourism, infrastructure development, education and healthcare.
The prime minister said that by now the “Make in India” initiative, along with considerable progress towards ease of doing business in India, was well established.
While highlighting the various achievement of the NDA government Prime Minister said that poor sanitation and lack of cleanliness is much more than the issue of health.
The area had been in a security lockdown throughout the day to prevent anti-India protests during Modi’s visit.
This is the second such large economic package announced by the Modi government after it unveiled a Rs1.
India accuses Pakistan of backing the separatist militants fighting security forces in Indian Kashmir. A part of Kashmir is also held by China.
