Jurgen Klopp rejects talk of playing return for Steven Gerrard

Jordon Ibe has urged Liverpool to use their Europa League victory over Rubin Kazan as a springboard, as per the club’s official website.

The Reds face Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday afternoon – just 60 hours after they arrived home following Thursday’s gutsy 1-0 win over Rubin Kazan.

“I have great memories of winning the competition with Liverpool in 2001 and Spurs fans often say winning it in 1984 was one of their favourite moments”.

Incidentally, this was also Ibe’s first ever goal in a Liverpool FC shirt and the youngster will be looking to move forward after this effort to make himself a regular fixture in Klopp’s plans.

“It’s a really good place to play football but the pitch is not in the same shape as the rest (of the stadium)”.

“We did really well, we had our chances and could have had more (goals)”.

But he insisted there would be no problem with the quick turnaround, saying his players had better get used to it they want to play in the Champions League. “But we don’t think too much about this”.

A report in The Independent said that Gerrard, who joined Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of last season after 17 years with Liverpool, could possibly play again for the Merseysiders on loan or even following a transfer.

“Jordon is a very skilled guy”.

In a mad seven minute rant after Chelsea’s defeat against Southampton last month, Mourinho made it quite clear that the club had to sack him if they wanted to get rid of him.

Jurgen Klopp’s side drew their previous game against Kazan in the group 1-1 a fortnight ago.

That they earned such a result and performance 2,500 miles away from home adds extra significance to what history will record merely as a group-stage win over the 12th-place team in Russia’s Premier League. “It was a good through-ball from [Roberto] Firmino and I was just happy to get it on target and in and I’m happy for the team to win the game”.

“I don’t need my team at 4am Friday morning”.

With his speed, he is very different to most of the players I know.

“We will find for sure something for Stevie when he comes back and whatever he wants to do we will help him but not at this moment – we are in the middle of the season”.

“I don’t know, we have to work to create a new kind of music but we are in a good way”.
