Trump catches Carson in Iowa poll

Republican primary voters identified Trump as the best candidate to bolster the economy, as well as the most likely to beat Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic Party nominee. The poll also showed Sanders beating Trump 50 percent to 41 percent, but did not ask about a match-up between Sanders and Carson.
Donald Trump has officially filed for New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary – and he took more shots at Marco Rubio’s personal finances while he was at it. The remaining Republican candidates all polled below 3%, while 63% of responders to the survey claimed they may still pivot on who to support.
Donald Trump maintains a slim one-point lead in the poll with 24 percent, followed by Ben Carson at 23 percent.
Among Democrats, Hillary Clinton was leading Vermont Sen. 44-percent of Democratic voters say they might change their mind.
“But a year is an eternity in presidential campaigns and this race already has left a few former front-runners on life support”, Malloy added.
“Clinton gets crushed on character issues, pounded by Carson and closely challenged by Sen”. Voters gave Carson a slight edge when it came to who represents their values better, but 33 percent said Trump has the best chance of capturing 2016 election, compared to the 25 percent who chose Carson.
Though Carson is the top Republican candidate for N.C. respondents, he is not the only candidate that respondents would choose over Clinton. Clinton gets 46 percent to Trump’s 43 percent, Rubio tops Clinton 46 – 41 percent; Cruz gets 46 percent to Clinton’s 43 percent and New Jersey Gov. Christopher Christie tops Clinton 46 – 41 percent.

But Carson’s support has been steadily growing over the past month, and the soft-spoken doctor overtook the brash former reality TV star when Quinnipiac’s new poll showing a toss-up race was added into the mix. Ted Cruz’s 13 percent. By a margin of 60 to 36-percent American voters say she is not honest and trustworthy.
