Bellator books Royce Gracie vs. Ken Shamrock 3, ‘Kimbo’ vs. ‘Dada 5000

Royce Gracie part three will happen February 19, at Bellator 149 in Houston, Texas.

The two great warriors fought twice before in their illustrious careers, with Gracie defeating Shamrock in November 1993 via submission and then later in April of 1995, when the two fought to draw in an unforgettable 36-minute bout. He told us in an exclusive interview recently that he’s not re-signing with TNA, and is looking to take time off from pro wrestling to evaluate his future and heal up. Slice, who rose to prominence as a backyard brawler whose fights were documented on YouTube, returned to MMA after a five-year hiatus to dispatch Shamrock via first-round technical knockout at Bellator 138 this past June.

Now, the two former street warriors are set to write the final chapter of their beef in front of millions of people worldwide as Dada 5000 takes his prodigious brawling skills to the Bellator MMA cage against Kimbo Slice.

More fights on the Bellator 149 card are expected to be announced in the days and weeks ahead. He’s since penned countless news stories and live fight reports along with dozens of feature articles as the lead writer for the site, reaching millions of fans in the process. The combined age of the fighters in the main event at the time of the bout will be 101. He hinted on social media that he’ll be pursuing other ventures outside the realm of MMA once this event is over with. Gracie went public with his retirement shortly after that fight. But now that Bellator is regularly trotting out aging legends to the cage, Gracie decided the time and money was right for his return.
