Golden State Warriors Beat Nuggets, Advance To 6-0

The Golden State Warriors may not have been favored to win the title this season but they are proving doubters wrong as they start the year at 5-0, with their recent success a 112-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers last Wednesday. The reigning MVP drained 13 consecutive points in the final quarter, including a go-ahead three with less than a minute left, as the Warriors sealed the deal.

What’s more? That’s even higher than the legendary 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls who beat their opponents with at least 12.3 points a game.

Consider that at home the Warriors had just enough to get by the Clippers in the best game of the young regular season.

Bob Paul hoisted a three pointer with 19 seconds left that would have provided the cause to the Clippers, nonetheless it grazed the rim’s front off and also the Warriors went on to survive whilst the unbeaten team inside the Conference. He’s averaging 30 plus points in the first six games, the first Warriors to do so since Rick Barry in 1974-75. I don’t know what it is about the third quarter, but on October 31 Curry came out hot, scoring a career-best 28 points in the third quarter during Golden State’s win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots for Minnesota, which had lost two in a row. Afterward, he talked about this budding rivalry and how he expects their games to be hotly contested.

Denver’s effort in the second half was magnificent and created a lot of momentum for the next couple games for their three-game homestand.

I’m aware of how early it is in the season, but I’m already picking the Baby-Faced Assassin to repeat as league MVP.
