Politico has an agenda and, as with most of those on the Left, the ends justify the means.
But his campaign success has begun to draw closer scrutiny from observers and United States media diving deeper into Carson’s claims about his volatile background growing up poor in Detroit.
The digging has found discrepancies, inconsistencies and, in the latest revelations on Friday, apparent falsifications. First there were reports that a stabbing incident the candidate recalled in his autobiography, Gifted Hands, might be fabricated.
“I had dinner with him and the Congressional Medal winners”.
Carson, 64, a retired neurosurgeon, said he thought he was being singled out and vetted by the media in a way that other presidential candidates had not been.
In a post Wednesday on his Facebook page, Carson wrote that “every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no elected office experience”.
“There’s no question I’m getting special scrutiny”, Carson told CBS’ Face The Nation on Sunday, saying that people – unnamed – “are very threatened” because they see how well he is doing in surveys against Democrat Hillary Clinton.
“There but for the grace of God go I”, Christie said. “You know, it’s not easy to be asked”. The Wall Street Journal said it could not confirm Carson anecdotes from his high school and college years. “It’s nearly 50 years ago”.
Carson continued by saying the proliferation of heroin use specifically is a serious problem that needs to be addressed by not giving up on the War on Drugs. “I will sit at their knee and I will learn from them”.
“I think we want people who are truthful and humble, not people who are exaggerating what their background is”, Corroon said. If he can add Carson supporters as well, Cruz could emerge as a powerful force to potentially win the Republican nomination. Sen.
In an interview with NBC News, Carson said he would not make his brother available to discuss the violent episodes of his youth, which he has described in his books. “But I knew medicine is what I wanted to do”.
In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, Trump suggested he was skeptical about one Carson claim about his childhood – that he tried to stab a friend when he was 14, but the knife broke on his friend’s belt buckle. “I told it as I understood it”.
Carson said CNN did not speak with the right people. A video surfaced this week from a 1998 commencement speech Carson gave at Andrews University, which is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, of which Carson is a member. Instead, they are said to earn appointments to the military academy, which comes with tuition, room and board and expenses paid, in exchange for five years of service in the Army after graduation.
“If you’ve got a real scandal, if you’ve got something that’s really important, let’s talk abut that”, he said.

As Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) surged in the polls, climbing to third place in a few rankings, he also faced new questions from national media on his financial records going back to his time as speaker of the House in Florida.
