During a performance at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards at London’s Wembley Arena on Sunday, Michael fell into a cavity in the middle of the stage.
Posing with bandmates Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock & Jade Thirlwall the women seemed unimaginable on the red carpet ahead of the award show at Wembley arena where they performed to 10,000 fans. He first joked, “WHY DO I ALWAYS HURT MYSELF…”
Michael Clifford of band 5 Seconds Of Summer says he will be on crutches for a few days.
Speaking after the accident, he joked to Radio 1: “I was looking at Rita Ora and I was like… hey and I fell”.
The winners were voted for by Radio 1 listeners and the ceremony was hosted by Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw and co-hosts Demi Lovato, Rita Ora, The Vamps and Troye Sivan.
Ed Sheeran took home best British solo artist, while Joe Sugg won best British vlogger, beating his sister Zoella to the prize.
