Dying ‘Star Wars’ fan granted wish to see film early
A man dying of a rare form of cancer got to see the new Star Wars movie early after his wish to see it before he dies was granted.

The media campaign thrust Fleetwood into the national spotlight and finally, this week, the powers that be granted his final wish. Episode 7 director JJ Abrams then called the family and said he and the Star Wars team were going to show Daniel the film.
Ultimately, the hard work paid off. Yesterday, Ashley published a Facebook post thanking everyone for their support and relaying how Disney and Lucasfilm provided Daniel with an advanced screening of the film.
The story of Daniel Fleetwood is testament to the expression that alludes to romantic fairy tales and, perhaps for a few, winning the lottery.
A Star Wars fan since he was eight years old, Mr Fleetwood was desperate to see the latest instalment – scheduled for release on December 18 – but anxious he would not live to see it. For those like me who can’t help themselves…I just found the video you’ll watch on loop all day… In the trailer that dropped last month, Maz Kanata tells Rey “The Force is calling to you”, suggesting that Rey, like Leia, is Force friendly.
Mark Hamill, reprising his role as Luke Skywalker, added a post of his own: “I am elated for Daniel and his family!”
A new global Star Wars trailer has just exploded onto the web featuring a ton of incredible new footage to further tide us over till December.
