On Monday, four Israelis were wounded in two stabbing incidents in Israel.

Meanwhile, Palestinians gave a hero’s welcome on Thursday to released prisoner Mohammed Allan, who had staged an unprecedented 66-day hunger strike over the summer, in protest of his one-year detention by Israel without charge.

Also Wednesday, Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency said it arrested a Gaza resident last month after “he transferred hundreds of tons of building materials, which had been earmarked for the rehabilitation and development of the Gaza Strip, directly to Hamas”.

The first fatality in this round of violence was a 64-year-old Israeli who died after Palestinians pelted his vehicle with rocks in Jerusalem.

In Israel, a news website closely followed by religious Jews hosted a video game in which children were urged to “neutralize” attackers dressed as Arabs.

Families of young people killed in the violence have clamoured for their bodies to be released and accuse authorities of “collective punishment”.

“Living in a country where there is nothing else but war, everyone expects to know death, injury or lose a child”, said Natsheh.

Since mid-September, 11 Israelis have been killed in attacks, while 70 Palestinians have been killed.

Medics try to approach the injured youth but are pushed back by Israeli forces. It is unknown what role Israel would have and whether Israelis would have access to the footage.

Palestinian security officials identified him as Ibrahim Skafi, 22, from Hebron.
