It’s not even a month, and Apple has announced discount to the tune of Rs 34,000 on its latest iPhones.
If you happen to own an iPhone 6 or select Samsung flagship phones, it’s now easier to get your hands on the new iPhones.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are exorbitantly priced, starting at Rs 62,000 and going up to Rs 92,000.
Apple has missed the pre-order target in India.
The new iPhones are the most expensive in India as compared to other countries around the world. The company hasn’t seen the kind of sales it saw a year ago when it launched the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. But as per the business daily, the sales were down 15-20% as compared to a year ago as iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that hit the market in 2014 were cheaper by Rs 8,500-9,000. The prices had already dropped a few time back online and the iPhone 6s 16GB price was reduced to Rs 55,799, which is quiet a sharp decrease from the initial sticker price. Three senior trade partners of Apple in India told The Economic Times report that under the scheme, Apple and its distributors will be buying back old models to make sure that all transactions are genuine and reduce the burden of the retailer who can push sales further.
Apple has four distributors in India and the remaining three will also follow in Ingram Micro’s footsteps soon. Apple has additionally created a separate web site the place retailers have to add particulars of previous handsets towards which new fashions will probably be purchased.

Last month, during an analyst conference call, the Apple management had acknowledged that the higher pricing of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in India and a few other markets due to foreign exchange fluctuations has had an impact on their sales.
