NJ woman identified as Massachusetts burning victim

– Police have identified a body found burned near a set of train tracks in Massachusetts as a New Jersey woman.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement the body, which was discovered on Tuesday night, was identified as Ashley Bortner, 29, of Paulsboro.

Investigators only realized that her hands and feet had been tied behind her back after putting out the fire in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

After extinguishing the fire, they determined the woman was deceased, according to the DA’s office.

Anyone with information about Bortner should call Massachusetts state police detectives at 508-923-4000.

Her family is trying to raise money to have her body brought back to New Jersey for a funeral and burial.

‘She has a child, ‘ Kulb said. She was always outgoing and she was just a wonderful person’. Bortner appears to have been targeted by her killer.
