TAG Heuer Carrera Connected Smartwatch – Everything You Need To Know
Today, even while its predecessors remain among the most sought-after vintage watches on the market, the TAG Heuer Carrera has proven itself not only a cool series, but a relevant one, too. It’s the first true smartwatch from a Swiss luxury watchmaker, but can it solve the steadfastly traditional industry’s looming problems? Unlike other Android Wear watches, the TAG Heuer Connected comes with a set of digital watch faces, designed with classic TAG Heuer dials. “The TAG Heuer Connected watch gives you the means not only to connect to the future, but also to connect to eternity”. How this could happen, according to Mr. MacFerren, is similar to what happened in the phone space: Android Wear, like Android, offers punters more choice and more cost-effective options and this, could, theoretically lead to Android Wear becoming more widely used in the smartwatch space than Apple’s proposition, just as we saw in the phone markets between 2007 and present day.

Update: Here is a video with a few specs and an overview of the “journey”.
Check out the Tag Heuer Connected unveiling here.
This is EXACTLY the type of exposure Android Wear needs.
This is the device that LVMH’s Jean-Claude Biver, who oversees the The TAGHeuer brand, has said would present a different vision, perhaps something a bit more “sexy”, compared to Apple’s (AAPL) Apple Watch.
Rumors have been rife that the TAG Heuer watch would be priced at $1,800. The case and buckle are designed and manufactured in Switzerland by the same team that makes the rest of TAG’s watches, though the Connected Watch is not technically “Made in Switzerland” since the electronic guts come from Intel.
It boasts 4GB of memory, equivalent to 20 hours of music and more than 25 hours of autonomy due to its power source, the latest-generation lithium battery. It seems like TAG Heuer has a solution to this problem.
However, it is unable to brand the device “Swiss made”, because the majority of its components – including an Intel processor – were made elsewhere.
The watch is also IP67 splash resistant. But we are producing mechanical watches. Since its release, the watch has often been near the center of any discussion of iconic chronograph watches. New users of Insiders receive a free three month trial upgrade to Premium.

The upgrade will cost a further $1,500 and involves trading in the Connected timepiece for a special edition analogue model. But apparently, Carrera Connected is aimed at taking on Apple Watch, which costs up to $17,000.
