A hardline, yet well spoken Chelsea fan has been fired from his job from top law firm Goldberg Segalla, after he was filmed ranting about Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool a couple of weeks ago.

It’s what it brings out in people and although it might not be politically correct to label an entire group of people as “nasty” and “horrible”… we’re quite sure that there are a thousand Liverpool fans who call Chelsea supporters the same and worse on a daily basis and vice versa.
O’Connell, subsequently apologised for his remarks but it appears that has not been enough for his firm.
O’Connell’s apology was unfortunately not enough for his firm however and last night, Goldberg Segalla managing partner Rick Cohen released a weird YouTube video in which he announced that he had taken the decision to sack the award winning lawyer. For these reasons, we have terminated our partnership with Mr. O’Connell effective immediately.
While O’Connell’s remarks were far from pleasant, many football fans have come out in sympathy over the zero-tolerance approach shown by his bosses.
Goldberg Segalla initially backed the lawyer, describing him as “a caring colleague and consummate gentleman [whose] passion got the best of him”.
The statement has been met with anger from Liverpool fans, however Mr O’Doherty is yet to comment or apologise for what he has said.
The man described as “one of the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance professionals, ‘ tweeted ‘craw” back to your miserable Merseyside home, ‘ in response to feedback to the video from Liverpool fans on Twitter. “I clearly regret this and any offence that I may have caused by my hot headed and regrettable reaction, which was inappropriate whether or not caught on camera”.
“We are extremely proud of the respectful and giving culture that we worked hard to build and we’re committed to maintaining it for ourselves, for our clients, and for the communities of which we are a part of”.
It added: “Liverpool, if not its people, is as a city, today, inbred”. The accent that it adopted in the 1950s has not gently merged into the more refined accents of the surrounding areas.
“It is as though the people of Liverpool are telling the world that they are content only to communicate with each other”.
