MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Adrian Peterson rushed for 125 yards on 29 carries for Minnesota, helping set up Blair Walsh’s 40-yard field goal in overtime that lifted the Vikings a 21-18 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday after quarterback Teddy Bridgewater left with a concussion.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told the Minnesota-area media on Friday, that he was confident that Cole would play well against St. Louis’ rejuvenated run attack, which is led by running back Todd Gurley, the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Month for October.
Earlier this week on Thursday Night Football, the Cincinnati Bengals moved to 8-0 easily as they demolished a hapless Cleveland Browns team 31-10. We do things right.

Late in the third quarter, Rams defensive end William Hayes drew the ire of the Vikings and the crowd with a low hit on Bridgewater, who grabbed his right knee. The Minnesota Vikings will employ their strong running game with whichever quarterback who plays.
The loss doesn’t bother me as the false sense of hope we all seem to have regarding this team. “If we were out on the street”, he said, “we probably would’ve had a fight”.

When asked if he thought Bridgewater had been specifically targeted by the Rams, Zimmer had this to say: “I don’t know about, but I do know that there is a history there with their defensive coordinator”. After being suspended for his role in the scandal in 2012, Williams was brought over to St. Louis by his former Titans boss, Fisher, to be the defensive coordinator in 2014. That included Brett Favre in the 2010 NFC Championship game, when he injured his ankle and took several shots at or after the whistle.
“I did not know he was going to slide”, Joyner said. Hill doesn’t have Bridgewater’s mobility, which has helped the Vikings’ offense keep the chains moving at times, so that has to be a big concern if Hill has to start games going forward. “I don’t agree with the hit”.
I went a few weeks not complaining the referees, so we must mention them again. It was an ugly contest led by the kickers, especially the Rams’ Greg Zuerlein, who attempted five field goals and made four-but the big narrative is obviously what happens for Bridgewater this week, and the NFL’s response to Joyner’s tackle. Two plays later, Gurley plowed into the end zone from a yard out.
Perhaps the Rams win the next two games because the Rams’ next two opponents stink.

Gurley is putting up similar numbers that Eric Dickerson did as a rookie for the Rams and he’s taken a lot of pressure off new quarterback Nick Foles since defenses have to key in on Gurley first and the pass second. Lined up next to Bridgewater in the shotgun, Peterson slipped through the line of scrimmage on a pass play. At times it hasn’t been pretty but not only has this team won four straight games, they find themselves tied with the suddenly-slumping Green Bay Packers for first place in their division.
