While Panarin was the star of the first period, Corey Crawford took over in the second.

The Chicago Blackhawks hope to end their two game losing streak when they host the Edmonton Oilers Sunday night.

Artemi Panarin continued his brilliant start to the season with two goals and an assist as the Hawks knocked off the Connor McDavid-less Oilers 4-2 at the United Center. Captain Jonathan Toews has scored five goals in his last seven games after being blanked in his first seven contests of the campaign.

Kane kicked off the week by adding a goal and an assist in a win over Los Angeles and an overtime loss to St. Louis.

Crawford wasn’t beaten until Edmonton’s Jordan Eberle scored a power-play goal at 2:56 of the third period on the Oilers’ 29th shot. In doing so, Kane equaled career highs for assists and points in one game; the only other time he recorded four points in the regular season was October 23, 2007 vs. CBJ (2-2-4), his ninth appearance in the National Hockey League.

As it stands now, Kane has at least one point in 10 consecutive games, and he’s had multiple points in three of his last four games played.

The Boston Bruins returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders. In doing so, Seguin became the first former Bruins player to post a hat trick against the club since November 7, 1996 (Mariusz Czerkawski, EDM).

Kane made it 3-1, only for Andrej Sekera to pull a goal back again before Artem Anisimov sealed the win in a power-play with six seconds remaining. You’ll remember this was the point in the season the Hawks started to put together a nice run last season, so hopefully Hossa’s prediction of a 15-game team learning curve will turn out to be clairvoyant.
