The Game Awards 2015 to air on December 3rd

Featuring “world premiere game trailers, game-inspired musical performances, and award presentations from the game industry’s biggest names”, The Game Awards 2015 will take place on Thursday, December 3 at 6pm PT/9pm ET in Los Angeles. This year’s event also promises not to disappoint too.

Backed by mobile-first social entertainment platform go90, The Game Awards 2015 will be streamed across YouTube, Twitch, Steam, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, with special Game Awards Sales discounting select digital games to accompany the show. During an interview with the NY Times, Geoff Keighley said that he is expecting around 4000 people to attend the event, compared to past year with 3500 attendees. Despite support from sponsors and game publishers, he ultimately lost money on the venture. However, the event was scaled back in its final installment with Spike, the online-only 2013 VGX, which was hosted by Joel McHale. Though it was reported that Spike approached Keighly to handle the event again, Keighly declined and chose to create his own Game Awards. In Las Vegas during PlayStation Experience last December, the inaugural The Game Awards took place.

A list of nominees for this year’s show will be announced in “mid-November”, according to the event’s website.
