Buhari sacks EFCC Chairman, Lamorde
Mr Lamorde was earlier on Monday sighted at the villa for what is believed to be his final meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari as the chairman of the commission.

Because of his perceived incorruptible posture, he was made the head of the sensitive Economic Governance Unit (EGU), which handles investigations of senior public officials.
Naija247news recalled that the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde was summoned to appear before the Senate tomorrow over an alleged diversion of recovered stolen funds amounting to N1trillion.
But trouble started for the police officer after the controversial removal of Mr. Ribadu as chairman of the commission in December 2007.
The new chairman, Farida Waziri, was uncomfortable with his presence doubting his loyalty to her, sources say.
A few of his traducers also said throughout his term in office, he pandered to the body language of former President, Goodluck Jonathan, who was also accused of indifference in the face of wanton plundering of the nation’s resources.
He was subsequently re-deployed to the police after days of detention with nothing incriminating found against him. “But more than Lamorde, Magu has had a turbulent time at the agency and was the target of a state-sponsored persecution under Farida Waziri’s headship of the agency”.

Magu was arrested on August 4, 2008 following allegations that police discovered EFCC files and a computer containing classified documents at his Abuja residence.
